Rachel Bennett

Rachel Bennett photoI am a mature life-long learner always striving toward the most efficient ways to help others achieve their goals of a healthier lifestyle.  My philosophy is to use what life has taught me wisely and integrate it into the knowledge gained through my studies. I believe this approach has allowed me to gain more insight into how we work through our problems and feelings.

I believe nothing happens in life by chance and everything, both good and bad, has some reason or purpose.  I value a warm relationship and strive to create a safe place for those who I have the honor to serve and work with in therapy. With the relationship between the client and counselor as the primary source for healing, I incorporate a variety of approaches tailored to the therapeutic needs of the client. Primarily, I use attachment theory, person-centered and strengths based approaches, various experiential therapies, narrative therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy within my work.  I also incorporate a variety of art, music and movement within therapy.

I am certified in Attachment Based Relationship Therapy (ABRT®) which is an experiential model used with children from the age of 2 to adults who have experienced trauma and/or attachment related issues.  ABRT® is often the mode of therapy I use with adoptive/foster families to promote parent to child leadership and relationship bonding.  I work with adults and adolescents struggling with past trauma, PTSD, grief, depression, anxiety or spiritual issues.  I am also certified in Hope Focused Couple Therapy and PREPARE/ENRICH couples therapy models.  Each of these models focus on couple's strengths while building or rebuilding relationship.

At Centers for Hope and Wellness, Inc., we are a small team of Christian counselors and staff who care for people from all walks of life.  We provide services for individuals, couples, families, children, teens and adults.
